Grammy or not, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix was not the true Phoenix fan’s favorite album. It’s kind of like a 35 minute humming session. But we digress… the remixes that have trickled out over the past year have been pretty stellar. Compiled onto a collection called Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (Remix Collection) [which shall henceforth be referred to as Wolfgang Amadeus Remix], the tracks’ re-workings are more sonically varied than the original collection. From Passion Pit’s take on “1901″ to Yacht’s “Armistice,” there’s a lot to be discovered in other people’s productions. Notably absent from this Classixx’s “Lisztomania,” which exceeds all here in quality, even Alex Metric’s remix of the same song. Too bad. Oh yeah… for today only the whole album is only $2.99 on Amazon.
Phoenix’s remixes for a steal
