Groove ArmadaThe last time Groove Armada played live in the US it was kind of an experiment: Tom Findlay escorted a full band but did not appear on stage himself. Andy Cato wasn’t even on the continent. Findlay described the production as perhaps the future of the band, but for one reason or another, those plans seem to be on hold as both he and Cato are scheduled to perform a few live and DJ gigs next month in the US. In support of Black Light, the band’s forthcoming album (and first for dance label Om), the Armada is making more of a bid for a stateside audience than they have in seven years. With appearances at Ultra in Miami and Beyond Wonderland in SoCal, they’re likely to tap into that growing teen rave revival crowd, glowsticks and all.
