The acoustic guitar and soft harmonizing tenors on Dark Captain Light Captain‘s 2008 album Miracle Kicker made for a stunning album that is hard to get sick of either as background or headphone listening. Still, it’s hardly what you would call remix-ready. The group have nonetheless surprised with a 5 track ep that features re-workings of four songs from Kicker. The Hatchback remix of “Questions” is truly a surprise, as xylophone (or is it a glock?) pitter patter in lieu of those guitars, and then there’s a bassline after the 3:30 mark and you’re like whaaaat?
