in sick music no boundaries

thecocknbullkidShe’s opened for Santogold, CSS, and Late of the Pier, but while she has elements of each in her style (Santi’s deadpan delivery, CSS’s blinky 80s-ness, LOTP’s angsty), thecocknbullkid (née Anity Blay) definitely has her own style. IAMSOUND releases her debut EP, Querelle, in North America this August, and the four tracker will hopefully presage a mind-blowing debut. One of the tracks from Querelle, “I’m Not Sorry” is streamable via her MySpace and gives a good idea about the kind of heat she brings and the punch she packs. “Own My Own,” her first single from last summer (produced with Metronomy’s Joseph Mount) is not on the EP, but you can enjoy the video here or below.
