Diplo takes Mad Decent Downtown

downtownWith his album with Switch on the horizon, Diplo has taken his label, the buzz making Mad Decent, to Downtown Records for a joint venture. Touted by Downtown CEO Josh Deustch as an “opportunity to continue to grow the Mad Decent brand in its own unique way, drawing on Downtown’s marketing, promotion, publishing and licensing resources to achieve tremendous successes,” the takes Mad Decent artists like Crookers and Rye Rye to the label that is now the home of Justice, Cold War Kids, and, um, the First Lady of France.

In addition to Guns Don’t Kill People…Lazers Do, the Switch/Diplo collabo, future Mad Decent releases will come from Philly punk band Popo and ragga dub producer Rusko.
